About Michael Kast

"God has blessed Michael with many gifts and talents, including speaking and leadership.  In 2002 I had the privilege to intern under Michael and learn from his years of experience.  He has been an encouragement to me and my family, but more importantly a lifelong friend."

Michael Kast is the newest member of the Leadership Staff at Southeast where he oversees ago-appropriate ministries for birth through age thirty.  Michael first joined the staff in 1988 and until mid-2003 he led the Junior High Ministry team.  For the next year and a half he led on the Adult Ministry Team, before accepting the role as Edification Team Leader.

Michael is a gifted teacher who enjoys bringing the Bible to life and making it easy for everyone to apply to their everyday lives.  “I believe that the Bible is the most exciting book ever written.  It contains everything that we need to get through life and spend eternity with God!”  Currently Michael is teaching the “Equipping the Saints” Adult Bible Fellowship on Sunday mornings.  He is also a frequent speaker to groups of students at retreats, youth conferences and national conventions.

Michael and his wife, Jill, have three children, Monica, Morgan, and Jacob.  He enjoys University of Louisville basketball and football, working on and improving his older home, playing golf (even though he never breaks 90), and spending time with his family.

In addition to his involvement in ministry at Southeast Christian Church, Michael has authored three books, Clueless Evangelism: How to Shore Your Faith When You Haven’t Got a Clue, For Guys Only: Teenage Guys Behaving Godly, and a student devotional book What’s in Your Locker?  He and his wife also write youth curriculum for Standard Publishing.
