Michael
Kast is the newest member of the Leadership Staff at
Southeast where he oversees ago-appropriate ministries
for birth through age thirty. Michael first joined the
staff in 1988 and until mid-2003 he led the Junior High
Ministry team. For the next year and a half he led on
the Adult Ministry Team, before accepting the role as
Edification Team Leader.
Michael is a gifted teacher who
enjoys bringing the Bible to life and making it easy for
everyone to apply to their everyday lives. “I believe
that the Bible is the most exciting book ever written.
It contains everything that we need to get through life
and spend eternity with God!” Currently Michael is
teaching the “Equipping the Saints” Adult Bible
Fellowship on Sunday mornings. He is also a frequent
speaker to groups of students at retreats, youth
conferences and national conventions.
Michael and his wife, Jill, have
three children, Monica, Morgan, and Jacob. He enjoys
University of Louisville basketball and football,
working on and improving his older home, playing golf
(even though he never breaks 90), and spending time with
his family.
In addition to his involvement in
ministry at Southeast Christian Church, Michael has
authored three books, Clueless Evangelism: How to
Shore Your Faith When You Haven’t Got a Clue, For Guys
Only: Teenage Guys Behaving Godly, and a student
devotional book What’s in Your Locker? He and
his wife also write youth curriculum for Standard
Publishing.
